Ophir measures the calibration power of the sensor by replacing the reference primary sensor with the sensor in calibration, while keeping the average laser power constant. The sensor is usually calibrated at two or three specified wavelengths.

At each wavelength, the sensitivity is measured at two or three powers, and the sensitivity used for calibration is the average value of the measurement sensitivity. If the sensitivity change exceeds the specified linear limit, the sensor is disqualified.

In a wavelength range, the absorption variation between wavelengths is usually not more than ± 2%, so the wavelength of the power meter that is closest to the wavelength used can usually be selected.

After calibrating the power of the sensor, calibrate the single energy by first measuring the laser power on the sensor, then transferring the same power within the set period of time, and adjusting the reading to energy equal to power times time. Generally, the energy accuracy can be set to+/- 5%.
