The T-200 rain gauge was developed 25 years ago to monitor rainfall in all weather. It was designed in collaboration with the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and the Norwegian Institute of Geotechnical Engineering. Precipitation can be reported in real time at any interval to calculate intensity. The precipitation gauge is easy to configure, works with automatic data acquisition systems, and has 0-5 V or SDI-12 output options.

The original T-200B had a capacity of 600 mm (24 in) and was fitted with a vibrating string sensor. Geonor now offers 1000 mm (40 in), 1500 mm (60 in) and 3000 mm (120 in) precipitation -- rain gauges, and can be combined with three sensors. The manometer has a protective housing with WMO standard 200 cm2 inlet.

Precipitation is measured using a vibration line load sensor. Instruments and windshields are mounted on the base. With antifreeze, any solid sediment will melt in the container. As a result, no electric heating is required, thus eliminating a common source of error. Add a thin layer of oil to prevent any evaporation.

1 or 3 Sensor systems–The original T-200B precipitation - The rain gauge used a vibrating string (vw) sensor to measure the load at one of three support points. As long as the container is level, the load will be evenly distributed. Although this works well for some applications, we offer the option to merge three VW sensors, which acts as a triple redundant backup to ensure that precipitation is always recorded. It can also be used as an average function.

White case–The standard housing for all T-200BMD 1500mm systems is white and uses a hydrophobic paint. Anodized aluminum and a black case are currently standard on all other models (T-200B and T-200BM). The original T-200B came with an anodized aluminum case and black air intakes. The inlet is black to prevent "clogging" by using the energy of solar radiation to melt any deposits on the inlet.
